I watched this fight, and in my opinion, Shogun won the fight fare and square. The decision just ricked of Dana White and the so called "CASH" that is overtaking this sport.

He's got some good points. Since it went to a decision, the undefeated champion will get the advantage. He landed more punches to the head with better precision.
I still say Shogun laid down more punishment, and through out the fight, Mashida was the one getting the worst of it. Machida was more affected buy the Shogun's roofless attack of the mid section and the legs. Shogun didn't look any different at the end of the 5th round from the beginning of the 1st.
As for the previous posts, a little trash talk hasn't hurt anyone. Still, it can take the better of a person, and turn that person into someone who he/she normally is not. Lets be respectful of one another. Talking trash isn't the same as slapping each over silly.

Also, in title fights, you have to DEFINITEVELY win the fight. Not just be close. Yes, Shogun may have won, but it always has to be a STRONG performance in a title fight.

I think you were watching a different fight....maybe the one the judges seen.
All those shots you think Machida landed to the head were deflected.
Fightmetric has Shogun landing 17 head shots versus Machida landing 14...
Shogun landed 82 strikes vs. 42 landed from Machida.
