I think judges should vote 10-10 or 10-8, 10-7 more. This allows for less chance of wrong decisions. Rua won this on my "card" but the 1st could have gone to Machida or even a 10-10 draw. I gave 2 and 3 to Machida, but 4 was close, although I gave it to Rua, but the last was all Rua, maybe even a 10-8 round. Oh well, there ain't no changing it now. Just wait till next year for rounds 6 through 10. And again, I say "Don't leave it in the hands of the judges!"

With so many threads on the outcome of this fight, it feels like the fight is ancient history.
I personally thought following the fight that Rua won the fight, but following watching numerous replays especially with the volume turned off I feel that Machida won the 1st 3 rounds to Rua's last 2 round. Rua's last two rounds were more exciting than the first 3 rounds, but that's not how fights are scored. They are scored strictly on the round 10-9 round system unless you have utter dominance in a round which never happened. I think the judge has it right.
The compustrike datas are taken as totals for the entire fight but they cannot be correct indicator unless they were broken up on a round by round basis. You also need to take into significance of the strikes.
Actually, comustrike does have this fight broken down into round by round, and according to their numbers there is not one single round in which machida landed more strikes and does have a section for power strikes for significance, like it or not shogun is the uncrowned lhw champ.
Machida has had way more than the daily recomended amount of urine intake on too many occasions and it has severely altered his mental state if he thinks he won 4 of the 5 rounds, IMO the acid in his urine is eating his brain cells.
I have heard that a urine sampling addiction can be compared to that of a crack head or a heroin junkie. lol
Cheers

Not a shogun fan before the fight, but now he seemed to do well against Machida, and prove he is close to the top of the lhw division. I wouldn't say that he dominated the fight to win a belt, but a rematch should be given. He showed machida is vulnerable, didn't have enough power to hurt shogun with his punches, which is how he won his last 3 fights, by counter striking when opponents got fed up with waiting. In a rematch shogun will dominate, the fight and notlet up so the judges have no option but to give the fight to shogun

Shogun landed more strikes with a better % in every round, therefore he won EVERY round?
Some people shouldn't post on here UNLESS they KNOW what they are talking about???
