Hey chicot60...

What kind of connection do you have? DSL/Cable? Do you know what speed it is?

I get my signal from the local computer store which is just down the street from me. I have a small antenna outside my home and the signal comes through an access point. I can't quote what the speed is but I am quite okay with my downloads and web surfing. The problem is when I try to open ftatalk through ie the pages are loading slow. This only started 1-2 weeks ago. Prior to this time I had no problems. All other sites or surfing that I do through ie there is no problem. The other strange thing is that around 11:00 pm last nite when I opened ftatalk through ie it worked perfectly. This morning, once again, it is loading slow. I downloaded mozilla last nite and I am having no problem opening ftatalk at any time through this browser. Somehow ie is giving me the problem with opening ftatalk.

starting to sound like a IE setting for ftatalk......which may lead to cookies and cache being left over could be 2 folders saved instead of one......try clearing them out again.....

I don't understand what you mean by 2 folders saved instead of one. I have 2 programs (my pc ok and advanced system optimizer) that I use to clean my computer. I also go into tools, internet options and then clean up my files and cookies quite regularly. As I mentioned earlier my problem seems to be only when I am trying to open ftatalk. I downloaded mozilla firefox and ftatalk opens quickly with this browser. Earlier in the day I deleted ie8 hoping that it would make a difference but there was no change. I am thinking of deleting ie7 and then downloading again. It definitly seems like the problem is with my 1e browser but that only started about a week and half ago. The other funny thing that puzzles me is that for last couple nites around 11 p.m. I could open ftatalk with ie and it would open quickly.

An Update

Just a quick update. I"m the guy who's page has been loading slow. I went out of town on Mon. am and just got back Wed. evening. Prior to this whenever I logged onto FTAtalk the page would load very slowly and it was only until very late in the evening (11pm-12 am)that it would start to load normally. When I logged on this evening my page for FTAtalk loaded normally and everything is opening quickly and working well. I don't what has changed but I hope it continues.

Slow site

Same problem here, unbelievably slow, used to work great a few weeks ago, seems like ever since this site was updated or ever since a new server was installed it's been as slow as molasses. Makes me think twice about logging in except I love the site. What to do?

What browser / os / speed of your internet connection.

I believe it may have something to do with the template caching... i'll try a few things...
