I'm having a really weird issue and wonder if anyone can shed some light on it.

I have 2 Bell recievers. Last night on one of them all of the even numbered transponders stopped coming in on me, the other reciever was unaffected.

I called Bell, they told me to switch the reciever locations that wasy i would know if it is the wires or the reciever. I have two seperate wires that come in from the LNB and each goes directly to each reciever. No switches.

So this morning after my coffee I decide to tackle this. Both rooms are fairly close and i can hear each TV from the opposite room. I went to take the reciever that was not having issues and place it in the room with the issues.

Whenever I unplug the sat cable from the good reciever, the TV in the opposite room loses signal. At first I thought I was crazy, but I tried it like 6 times, and same result each time.

I can think of no logical reason for this.

Any input would be appreciated.

What type of lnb's do you have? Sounds like your lnb is going bad.

Honestly I don't know what you call them. They came with the dish.

I do have some spare ones I guess I'll try that first. Thanks Harry

I had a similar problem a few years back when I lost all my even (or odd.. I can't remember) channels. Turned out to be a problem with the cable running from my dish to my receiver. It had worked for about 5 years, then one morning, I only had half my channels. I'd check all my connections between dish and receiver as a first step.

Well I guess the moral of the story is to kiss. (Keep It Simple Stupid).

I changed my lnb - Same issue.

I changed the cable from the LNB into the house - Same issue

I changed recievers from room to room - Same issue.

The issue was the 3' cable that goes from my wall to my reciever.

I forgot that while I do have seperate cables coming into the house that the one in the living room goes into my utliity room where i use a joiner to carry it to a wall outlet in my living room, and then of course have a small cable go from the wall to the reciever.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Cheers

There is an internal switch in the lnb itself. It is fried you need a new LNB . It is probably a dish500 lnb if it came from the provider

LNB's are fine, was a 3' connecting cable.

Thanks though

Do yourself a huge favor and Ground those dishes/lnb's..
I am willing to bet the problem that you tracked down in that short piece of cable was missing its ground(shield)..:)
