Hi,

I just installed a Wasabi Zero chip and all is well. I am able to play one game I downloaded and burned to DVD. Another game that I burned says Wii System Update required.

Can anyone tell me why I would get this message for one game and not the other?

If I take the update will it make my mode not work? How do you update? Do you require to hook up the Wii to the internet?

Thanks in advance

Marlie

I dont think system updates have effected mod chips. I dont have one so I am not too sure on that statement

there are programs that will take the system update out of the iso before burning if you want.
Its called Live Link Removed.

I dont think its critical to update to play anygame, I think they just add it to games so that people without internet connection can get the system updates. I believe all thats really changed is they added better parental controls I believe. So I would run your backups through the brick blocker, so that you dont have to update, that way you can still run the homebrew channel.

Thank you for the reply.

I have tried the Brick Blocker as well as checked the ISO in Region file. All is good. After running the Brick blocker I was able to get by the Wii update screen but now when I select Start I get a black screen.

So far I have been able to burn about 10 games with only two acting up. One has the black screen as mentioned and the other seems to not communicate with the remote properly.

Sytex, would you be able to PM me the link to where you download your games as you did for another in a different thread?

Thanks again

Did you check wasabi website to see if they release an updated software for your chip.?

I had mine modded last year with D2Pro9.. & have to update software so newer games would work....

Thank you for the advice. I have had great suddess with the usage of at least 30 games so I'm either thinking that my download was no good or I need to update my Wasabi.

So far so good and I'll look into any updates for my mod chip.

Dude, even though you have a modchip, I would recommend a softmod for its update blocking features (disk will never try and update you again).
