I need some help. my wife used to watch video streaming through browser based Windows media player. but now it says "Ready" wont play the clip.
Reinstalled the WMP but still the same.
Some of her friends are still able to watch it. so it not the site it self.
any advise?

Although you don't provide a lot of info (player version, is it the default player, operating system, etc.) you could try the solution found here:

Good tip, if WMP has lost it's file associations. Wondering if any other player had been loaded and taken over.

Same here, hence the question about being the default player. Even though the WMP might be set up to play on your system by default, this does not mean that it is your default browser player. Here's some more reading to do.

Ok, as i was trying to follow the instructions from above link,
I noticed WMP doesn't show under Start>all program>Acc>Enter..mnt.

This might be a part of the problem. Does WMP work from your PC - in other words, can you use it to play a file that is not from the 'net? If not, then the location for your player is wrong, and the file that executes WMP can't find it. Try reinstalling to the default location and see what happens. Also make sure that all of your media file extensions have an association with WMP.

OK, so now, with the player open, access the Tools>Options dialog box and see what file associations are checked. Make sure that the extension of the file you are trying to play over the net is there and checked.
