I realize this might be a dumb question considering how old the system is but I was wondering can the nintento 64 be seen in HD format? As far as with the component cables?

While you could hook up a Nintendo 64 to a HDTV , you can't get true HD from Nintendo 64.... The Wii could come out with arcade classics that could be optimized for HDTV...

It's not really a dumb question at all. Many ps2 owners come to relize that they can't expand there screen many times because either the game , nor the system can make the correct screen size. All systems and games can pretty much be hooked up to a HDTV, but they can't "be" HD. They have to be optimized for that, and the cable for the most pureset form of HD is the HDMI port.

I good rule of thumb is if you expect for something to intergrate with HDTV, it should have a HDMI port.
